Abstract:
By the condensation of tryptamine with appropriate substituted benzaldehyde followed by Pictet-Spengler reaction, a series of 1-aryl-tetrahydro-β-carbo-lines(THβCs)were obtained.After dehydrogenation using sulfur, Pd-C or lead tetraacetate(LTA), these THβCs can give the corresponding β-carbolines(βCs)which exhibit specific binding with rat brain benzodiazepine receptor in vitro.

Some new Schiff bases were synthesized by the condensation of equimolar quantities of salicylaldehyde and 2-amino-5-phenylazo-pyridine or its derivatives in dry benzene(1):Metal complexes of the type ML2 and M'L3 where M=Cu2+, Co2+, Ni2+, Mn2+Pd2+, M'=Fe3+ and L=different newly synthesized monobasic Schiff bases were prepared in absolute ethanolic medium(2) and characterized by elementary analysis, conductance measurements, infrared spectra, electronic spectra, magnetic moments studies.

In the presence of alkali nitrite and carbonate, some nitrobenzenes substituted by strongly electron withdrawing group undergo a self condensation in an aprotic polar sotvent to give symmetrical disubstituted diphenyl ethers in good yields.A possible mechanism is discussed, the nucteophilic aromatic substitution SNAr and SRMAr may occur simultaneously.

The title complex [ErY(Gly)6(H2O)4](ClO4)6 5H2O has been synthesized.Its crystal structure has been determined by X-ray diffraction method.The crystal is triclinic with space group P1.The unit cell parameters are as follows:a=11.518(4), b=14.105(7), c=15.530(6)Å, α=96.61(3), β=102.74(3), γ=105.70(3)°, V=2327.7(17)Å3, Z=2, Dc=2.091g/cm3.The structure has been refined to a final R of 0.0785.The crystal is an infinite chain complex, in which four carboxyl groups from glycine molecules bridge the Er(Ⅲ)and Y(Ⅲ) ion, other two carboxyl groups bridge two adjacent Er(Ⅲ)or two Y(Ⅲ)ions.

Abstract:
This paper reports a new chemiluminescence system i.e.luminol-H2O2-IO4- catalyzed by sulphide ion(S2-).Based on this catalysis, a newchemiluminescence(CL)method for the determination of trace S2- is proposed.The detection limit is 0.2μg/L S2-, the linear dynamic range is 5μg to 100βμg/L S2- and the variation coefficient at an sulphide concentration of 10μg/L S2- is 4.5%(n=10).The method has been satisfactory applied to the determination of trace sulphide ion in water.

Abstract:
The bimetallic catalysts prepared from SiO2-supported Ru-Co, Ru-Fe and Ru-Mo carbonyl clusters exhibited high yields and selectivities towards oxygenates such as C1-C5 from CO+H2, in contrast to the catalysts prepared from homometallic and bimetallic Ru, Ru-Ni, Ru-Rh, Ru-Mn, and Ru-Cr carbonyl clusters.The FTIR investigation revealed that the 1584 cm-1 species plays an important role in the formation of oxygenates in CO hydrogenation, which is possibly assigned to surface formyl species.

A new method is proposed to absorb the NOx into an organic compound, 2-octanol.The absorption efficiency reaches up to 96-99%, and the NOx emission level is decreased from 1.0×104-3.0×105 to 60-680ppm.In the absorption process, 2-octanol is preoxidized.And then it is further oxidized into hexanoic acid with nitric acid.In this way, 20% of nitric acid is saved for the same yield of hexanoic acid.

The electrochemical oxidation behaviors of adrenaline(AD) and its Be(Ⅱ) complex have been studied by voltammetric method with a carbon paste working electrode.On the bases of calculation of the atomic net electronic charges of AD molecule by INDO approximate method and results of comparative experiment with dopamine the possible coordination site of Be(Ⅱ)-AD complex is proposed.

A fluoroimmunoassay method using unlabeled Terbium chelate is described.The principle is similar to that of fluoroimmunoassay method using lanthanide chelate as labels.The procedure is simpte because labeling process is unnecessary.The recovery of HSA and albumin in urine is 107% and 95% respectively.The standard deviation is less than 10%.

A novet toughened epoxy resin was obtained by using a precopotymer of epoxy resin and hydroxy-terminated butadiene-acrylonitrile copolymer(HTBN) and amine curing agent.The cured toughened resin has excellent mechanical properties due to the two-phase structure, which has been observed from SEM and TEM.

The LB film of the title complex was prepared by dropping a benzene solution of the title complex on the surface of water subphase at 25±1℃.The film was deposited in Z type on various hydrophilic pretreated substrates of quartz, CaF2 and electronic conductive glass for different purposes.The π-A curve of the film shows that the cross section per molecule is 125 Å2, which indicates that the alkyl chain of the molecule is basically perpendiculal to the surface of the substrate.UV, IR spectra and transmission electronic microscopy of the film were also obtained.
