Abstract:
Structural chemistry is a main and important curriculum for undergraduates in chemistry. In this paper, based on the students' interest in learning and the characteristics of the curriculum, introducing experiments of quantum chemistry calculation were proposed and applied in structural chemistry teaching. According to the key points and difficult points in the syllabus of structural chemistry, four basic experiments of quantum chemical calculation were designed and elaborated with detailed contents and implementation details. The teaching reform enables students to solve and understand chemical problems with the knowledge of structural chemistry and the computer as the instrument, thus improving the students' learning interest and the teaching effect.

Abstract:
The achievement of laboratory teaching objectives depends on scientific and rigorous experimental process management. The instruction manual of chemical experiments was formulated and strictly implemented in the fundamental chemistry experiment center of Dalian University of Technology, which strengthens the experimental process management and therefore fosters the students' consciousness of experiment safety and environmental protection. Every experimental section is included in the assessment category in order to train students' good experimental habits, standardize the experimental report writing and improve their innovative thinking ability. These measures effectively monitor and guarantee the quality of laboratory teaching.

Abstract:
Public optional courses are an important part of the curriculum system of higher education, and play an important role in the quality education of college students. Chemistry and life is a public optional course for non-chemical majors, and includes chemical theory related to basic necessities of life. In this paper, national standard documents are introduced into the instructional design. This work can guide students to understand national standard documents and use them to analyze problems. In this way, the students are able to objectively recognize chemistry and its importance in life, as well as know how to avoid the hazards of chemicals. Simultaneously, scientific literacy of students can also be cultivated, so that students can learn to use chemistry to improve their lives.

[Abstract](1379) [FullText HTML] [PDF 2583KB](14)
Abstract:
The ammonia usage in CaO2 preparation through CaCl2 and H2O2 was investigated by the reaction thermodynamics and the designed experiments. The results show that calcium peroxide production is related with the ammonia usage. When the molar ratio of NH3/Ca2+ is less than 2, CaCl2 could not converse completely. With the molar ratio of NH3/Ca2+ reaching 2,high amount of CaO2 and small amount of Ca(OH)3 were achieved. This molar ratio of 2 is suggested to be reasonable in the CaO2 preparation design.
