Abstract:
Based on the massive open online course (MOOC) of physical chemistry from Chinese university MOOCs platform, the authors introduce some initiatives and experiences in the MOOC course construction and the application for undergraduate teaching in Dalian University of Technology. The blended teaching and learning mode made up of "online" and "offline" was put into practice in other universities, and a new "1 + M + N" mode to provincial cross-school sharing has been demonstrated. It was shown that only the enhancement of MOOC teaching be highly valued throughout whole course of teaching, the students' quality and ability could be better cultivated followed by improving teaching quality.

Abstract:
During the years of 2015 to 2018, the inorganic chemistry course in Tianjin University has gradually transited from small private on-line course (SPOC) to flipped classroom. Flipped classroom teaching practices were carried out at more than 30 classes at our university by the sufficient use of on-line course resources. These practices effectively improve the quality of teaching, and greatly solve the problem of poor learning initiative and low participation of the students existing in current traditional teaching model. This article in detail introduces and summarizes the following four aspects, including transition of teaching modes, construction of online resources, online and offline supervising, test scores analysis and teaching thought. The effective ways for flipped classroom mode are discussed to improve students' knowledge and learning ability. And it also provides references for teachers to carry out their classroom teaching reform.

Abstract:
The SPOC course of spectroscopic methods in organic chemistry explored a combination of online and offline hybrid teaching methods based on the Chinese University MOOC network (https://www.icourse163.org/). Based on the characteristics of students at normal universities, the course was designed by improving teaching methods, designing course processes and contents, improving the contents of online video course, experiencing lessons and learning processes, and analyzing actual teaching results. The course aims to explore SPOC teaching rules, carry out teaching reforms, and provide more in-depth, meaningful, and effective teaching methods.

Abstract:
Flipped classroom and open classroom are both new teaching modes to improve the efficiency of teaching. Based on the combination of these two teaching strategies and the principles of chemical engineering course, this article uses the distillation section as an example to illustrate the implement process of this teaching mode. In light of the characteristics of the principles of chemical engineering course, we design and introduce the combination of the flipped and open classroom into teaching, and results of this strategy, mainly including teaching analysis, teaching strategy, teaching process and effectiveness. We come up with teaching methods and modes that are well suited to the learning characteristics of undergraduates, aiming to provide references.

Abstract:
Classroom activity and effectivity is a common problem that high-level universities have not solved well for a long time. After ten years of teaching reform, Sichuan University has formed a prototype of the "Sichuan-University Mode" for talent training. Based on the macro perspective of the development and demands of the society, this essay reexamines the educational mission of the new age and analyzes the undergraduates and the inconsistency of their subjective and objective needs. Based on the results, the value of the academic achievement assessment reform of non-standard-answer exam to the talent cultivation is evaluated. We argued that the assessment reformation stems from the concept of non-standardization of education. It embodies the capacity and the tolerance of universities and teachers. It is an effective approach to nourish the students' mind and to optimize their thinking pattern. It is a combination of moral education, innovative education and professional education. It strongly supports the goal of first-class talent training and is easy to operate in class. Hopefully, non-standard-answer examination could become a teaching paradigm benefiting to the classroom.

[Abstract](264) [FullText HTML] [PDF 331KB](7)
Abstract:
This paper explored "the classroom debates" in "nutrition chemistry" course. After evaluating the students' expectation in participating activities, the participating degree and their gains from the activity, it was found that the performance and gains from the "classroom debate" were influenced by provincial locations, genders and majors. The results showed that "the classroom debates" need to coordinate the students' speculative thinking ability, creative thinking, team playing, medical ethics and professional education as a whole. This would help the students to form a way of critical thinking as well as the right outlook on life and value system.

[Abstract](758) [FullText HTML] [PDF 4964KB](19)
Abstract:
Taking the chapter of "errors and data processing" in analytical chemistry as an example, the teaching design, teaching practice and teaching efficiency of mind-mapping were explored. The derivation of the new knowledge point, the relation between the new and old knowledge points, their generalization and summarization were emphasized in the design of mind-mapping; the blackboard-writing and mixed-media complemented each other in the teaching practice, the guiding function of mind-mapping was highlighted; and students' logical thinking was practiced in homework. The teaching practice and questionnaire survey show that it is necessary to introduce mind-mapping to university classroom teaching. Mind-mapping can improve students' logical thinking, increase their "learning ability" and arouse their enthusiasm. The teaching effect is satisfying.
