Two new mixed-valence heptanuclear manganese complexes, [Na₂Mn^ⅡMn₆^ⅢO₂(L)₆(N₃)₄(CH₃COO)₂]·4DMF (1) and[Na₂Mn^ⅡMn₆^ⅢO₂(L)₆(SCN)₄(CH₃COO)₂]·2DMF (²) (H₂L=3-ethoxy-6-(((2-hydroxyethyl)imino)methyl) phenol), were synthesized by treating the Schiff-base ligand with Mn(OAc)₂·4H₂O, and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra, thermogravimetric analyses and X-ray single crystal diffraction. X-ray single crystal diffraction analysis reveals that 1 and 2 have a similar new mixed-valence heptanuclear structure. The magnetic measurements indicate that 1 and 2 exhibit the antiferromagnetic interactions.
